The Big Blue Lake is a bedtime story for young children in the classic tradition. In the early verses, we are introduced to the various inhabitants of the underwater world and we see where they live and sleep...under rocks, in beaver dams and, in the case of the Great Green Snake, in a treasure chest! Each of the characters prepares to go to sleep as they turn out lights, find their beds and don their pajamas. All of the animals then exchange one final whispered "goodnight" as everyone (including the little listeners) drifts off to sleep.

Robert W. Armstrong graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1974 and Pacific McGeorge Law School in 1978. In addition to being a trial lawyer, he is a frequent contributor to several legal publications and an accomplished storyteller. He lives with his wife, Cindy and their two younger children, Noelle and Jake, in Long Beach, California.

Janet Broxon is a freelance illustrator whose vibrant watercolors have appeared in several children's books, on posters, packaging designs, textiles, and magazines. She studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and now lives in Brunswick, Maine, with her husband Tom, and twin boys. They live in view of a large pond full of the many critters in this book, including a family of beavers.
