Marguerite (Gracie) McGregor doesn’t have it easy. With a less than tolerable home life, at least she has her high-school friends. And the ocean. As a skilled surfer, Marguerite looks to the sea for solace. A national surf championship lies within her reach, but when Marguerite’s world is turned upside down, will the ocean be enough to save her?
Patrick Doherty is an author, teacher, martial arts instructor, and youth programs director. He was born in Naperville, Illinois, and grew up with his sister in neighboring Aurora. He teaches Okinawan karate & self-defense to children and teens full time, and serves as director for the non-profit youth organization. Patrick has also taught English and History at the middle school level. He enjoys reading as much as writing, and is also an avid surfer, guitarist, and life-long fan of the Chicago White Sox. Patrick lives in Chicago.
