Hector doesn’t know what he’s in for when he steps onto a rickety old bus, high up in the Andes Mountains. With no wiggling room to spare, he watches in disbelief as the driver lets more people and animals scramble aboard the swaying and bouncing bus until it’s ready to burst! Children will love this zany story, cleverly illustrated in pen and ink, and rich washes of watercolor.

Wendi Silvano has lived in Utah, Colorado, and Peru where she squeezed her way onto countless crammed buses. She was a teacher for eight years and now writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her husband and five children.

Ricardo Gamboa received a BFA degree in illustration from California State University at Long Beach. He has been involved in the children’s art industry for several years, and lives in Southern California. Just One More is his first picture book.

With its rhythmic, repetitive refrain, this books makes an ideal read-aloud. Children will quickly chant along with Hector each time he warns of the potential overload, and be especially amused by all the animals. Gamboa's cartoonlike watercolors extend the humor of the story and the hues nicely depict a warm day high in the mountains. Attractive endpapers have a handmade, fibrous look and complement this folksy tale.
